Activities
We are currently building a list of Strategic Activities that Dads can do with their children and families. We want ideas for everything from intentional ways to encourage your kids to road trip ideas, from dinner time conversation topics to Saturday night game nights.
Got a great idea. Submit it and if it is worthy of posting we will give you all the credit and 10% off a Custom Crest design. strategicdads@gmail.com
Here are some winter ideas for the cold and snow from About.com. 11 good ideas, everything from Snowboarding to Snow Painting.
Family Crests
A tradition from the past for today’s strategic families. Let us design a custom Crest to help inspire your family in strategic living.
Here is the Brady’s Family Crest as an example, broken down and explained.
Family Scripture: Philippians 2
Family Motto: “Taking Initiative for the Benefit of Others” was taken from our family scripture (Philippians 2).
I used the idea of four parts of a house from a sermon I once heard from Tommy Nelson, Pastor of Denton Bible Church.
Truth and Security: I used the picture of a foundation because our family’s security is found in the truth of the Gospel.
Knowledge and Discipline: I used the picture of the water faucet to represent plumbing. Plumbing takes out what is bad and brings in what is good. We want our family to be intentional in knowing Scripture so that we can discern what is good and bad.
The New Normal: I heard this term from a friend of mine, John Bryson, and it lined up exactly with what I was wanting for our family. We want to create a New Normal with our family. In other words, we do not want to go with the culture’s idea of normal. We want our family to create a New Normal that lines up with our values.
Warmth and Tradition: I loved the picture of the fireplace to represent a house that is warm, loving and inviting. The fireplace represents the things we do on a nightly basis and on special days that create tradition.
We took these ideas and created the custom design above for his family.
Flight Plan
A life of greater possibilities, potentials and passions awaits the emerging young man. Flight Plan is a resource and source of instruction and encouragement for boys, their parents, and other adults who work with boys. Ideal for dads and sons, church small groups and classrooms.
